Are you passionate about public safety and security? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in Flint, MI, to help ensure the safety and security of our campus community. This role is crucial in augmenting our surveillance capabilities and maintaining a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Anticipated Schedule: Afternoon/Night Shift (10P-6A)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and conduct surveillance using various systems, including video/camera systems and social media networks, to identify potential threats.
- Provide backup support to Public Safety Officers, including patrolling, emergency assistance, and first aid.
- Conduct social media monitoring to identify and assess potential risks and threats.
- Document and maintain the Clery Daily Crime Log.
- Prepare video and camera material for trials and reports.
- Conduct media analysis and research to support police and risk management operations.
- Provide workshops and in-service activities on technology-related subjects for faculty and staff.
Requirements
- One year of experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement.
- Experience with monitoring and examining security systems, including video/camera and media networks.
- Proficiency with standard word processing software, such as MS Word.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record for the past 5 years.
- Ability to work under high-stress environments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in decision-making.
Preferences
- Associate's Degree in computer science, information systems, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Experience working in an educational organization.
- Familiarity with criminal activity mapping.
- Certification or experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of video camera systems.
