Intelligence Research Specialist

This position is located in the Office of Open Source Intelligence, Directorate of Threat Investigations and Analysis TIA), Bureau of Diplomatic Security DS), Department of State DoS).

In this position you will conduct open-source intelligence research and analysis using your designated language skills to identify, assess, and report threats and other significant events affecting the organization's mission, personnel, and facilities.

Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement.

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience conducting open source research and analysis of threats, political violence, terrorism, or suspicious activity directed against personnel, facilities, and/or protected interests.
• Experience producing finished analytical products and threat assessments for investigative, protective intelligence, and/or law enforcement consumers.
• Experience preparing and presenting written and oral briefings on complex threat or investigative matters.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
