Ideal Candidate:
Current AF Intelligence civilian (DCIPS/GG or equivalent at the GG-12/13 grade level) or prior USAF 14N/1N (with experience equivalent to active duty intelligence analyst at a minimum of the O-2/3 or E-5+ level). Applicant ideally has a minimum of 4 years serving as an AF intelligence analyst with at least one assignment supporting a cyber related intelligence mission.
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national Intelligence Community (IC); knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapons systems life-cycle; and/or the ability to apply advanced intelligence analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national IC, DoD, USAF, and USSF, particularly as it pertains to cyber threat collection, analysis and production capabilities and limitations.
Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon systems life cycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of field intelligence offices in support of USAF/USSF research laboratories, acquisition program offices, and life cycle management, nuclear, sustainment, and system testing enterprises.
Knowledge of a comprehensive range of intelligence research methods, techniques, and practices and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed cyber intelligence capabilities and cyber threat assessments, identify cyber-related intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customers cybersecurity requirements.
Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing intelligence requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients cyber threat and cyber risk management needs.
Skill in communicating clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, subordinates, contractors, academia, and other agencies to work out solutions to problems, prepare professional level documents and studies, and deliver General Officer (executive) level information and decision briefs.
Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and competing resources, based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
