Intelligent Automation COE Lead — Caterpillar Inc. Your Work Shapes the World. As an Intelligent Automation COE Lead within Caterpillar's Intelligent Automation and Business Intelligence Center of Excellence, you will guide enterprise growth in Business Process Automation (BPA), Process Discovery, and Process Mining. You will design end‑to‑end workflows, quantify business value, and blend deterministic automation with Generative AI agents to address complex, judgement‑based work.Responsibilities Advise & Enable Lead enterprise adoption and maturity of BPA, Process Discovery, and Process Mining.Guide business units in prioritizing automation opportunities using data‑driven discovery.Identify when Generative AI agents complement traditional automation and develop an enterprise point of view on their use.Coach teams on responsible adoption of AI and automation.Build & Set Standards Provide SME guidance on Bizagi process design, BPMN modeling, UI, rules, integrations, and deployment.Lead the use of Automation Anywhere Process Discovery and Power Automate Process Mining to analyze as‑is processes and quantify ROI.Develop and maintain reusable assets such as playbooks, templates, governance documents, and intake frameworks.Support creation of monitoring approaches, KPIs, and operational practices to improve process performance and realized value.Partner & Align Coordinate with infrastructure, platform engineering, security, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, scalable governance.Collaborate with BI, data engineering, and business owners to align with Caterpillar's digital and operational excellence roadmap.Support incident and problem management for the BPA and process mining estate.Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in business process automation, improvement, intelligent automation, or analytics platform support.Hands‑on expertise with Bizagi (or Appian, Pega, Camunda) and BPMN 2.0 modeling, form design, business rules, and integrations.Experience with process discovery and mining tools (Automation Anywhere Process Discovery, Power Automate Process Mining, Celonis) and translating insights into automation roadmaps.Practical knowledge of Generative AI and AI agents in enterprise contexts, including document understanding and decision support.Strong communication and collaboration skills; experienced in engaging senior business leaders and technical teams.Familiarity with Power Platform, Automation Anywhere, Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Data Lake), and API integrations.Knowledge of DevOps practices for BPM/N, CA, and automation platforms.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Location East Peoria, IL; Irving, TX; Nashville, TN.Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coveragePaid time off (vacation, holidays, volunteer time)401(k) savings plansHealth Savings Account (HSA)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)Health Lifestyle ProgramsEmployee Assistance ProgramVolunteer and community support programsDisability, life, and parental leave benefitsTuition reimbursement and career development opportunitiesIncentive bonusesEqual Opportunity Employer Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
