Interim Accounts Payable Manager
We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Accounts Payable Manager opportunity with an industry-leading manufacturing company. The Interim Accounts Payable Manager will lead a high-volume Accounts Payable function, manage a team of five direct reports, and oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, month-end close, and operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including direct team leadership within the manufacturing industry. Hands-on Oracle Cloud ERP experience is required.
This is a three-month, 100% remote contract position paying between $60-$70/hour, depending on experience. Candidates located in New England or the Tri-State area are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily Accounts Payable operations across a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Manage, mentor, and provide oversight to a team of five Accounts Payable professionals.
• Ensure invoices and vendor payments are processed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Lead month-end AP close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and liability reviews.
• Work closely with Procurement, Finance, and operational stakeholders to address invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure Accounts Payable procedures follow company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, strengthen controls, and increase processing efficiency.
• Support Oracle Cloud ERP initiatives and optimize system usage within Accounts Payable operations.
• Prepare documentation and respond to requests related to internal and external audits.
• Contribute to additional accounting projects and departmental priorities as needed.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including leadership of high-volume AP operations.
• Prior Accounts Payable experience within the manufacturing industry is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing an Accounts Payable team with multiple direct reports.
• Hands-on proficiency with Oracle Cloud ERP is required.
• Strong knowledge of AP operations, internal controls, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
• Experience overseeing invoice processing, vendor payments, and issue resolution in a complex organization.
• Proven ability to evaluate and improve Accounts Payable processes and workflows.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to commit to the full three-month Interim Accounts Payable Manager engagement.
