Overview
The Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) is seeking an experienced finance and operations leader to head our Business Office as the Administrative Services Director IV. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in the budgeting and management of State and Federal funds, is organized and detail-oriented, communicates and coordinates effectively, and is an experienced team leader that will help shape the future of Vermont''s economy, housing, and communities.
ACCD leads many of Vermont''s key initiatives to improve quality of life and build strong communities. The Agency oversees:
The Business Office plays a critical role by managing budgeting, financial operations, and reporting, as well as core administrative functions such as payroll, space and equipment management, intra-office coordination, and process improvement.
The Administrative Services Director IV will:
This position reports to the ACCD Deputy Secretary and serves as a member of the Agency Leadership team. The role collaborates extensively with the Department of Finance and Management, other State agencies, and the Vermont General Assembly.

Minimum Qualifications
Master''s degree in accounting, business or public administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
OR
Bachelor''s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
OR
Bachelor''s degree AND six (6) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND ten (10) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.
OR
One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Director III with the State of Vermont.
NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).
Special Requirements
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
