Our client, a growing multi-location organization, is seeking an Interim AP Transformation Lead to support the accounting team during a period of transition and increased workload. The consultant will work closely with leadership and IT to oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable operations, support month-end close, and help evaluate and enhance the AP function, including supporting the RFP process for a new AP solution. This role will focus on driving structure, scalability, and efficiency across AP processes while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Attributes:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of accounting experience with strong AP focus
Prior leadership experience managing AP teams
Experience working in multi-entity or multi-location environments
Strong experience with month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and AP operations
Experience supporting process improvement, automation, or system implementations (RFP exposure a plus)
Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, data analysis)
Oversee full-cycle AP processes including invoice coding, vendor management, and AP inbox workflows
Support month-end close activities including accruals and reconciliations
Manage and support AP staff while providing structure and oversight
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency
Partner with leadership and IT to evaluate AP workflows and support system selection
Assist with vendor analysis, allocations, and process enhancements
Support ongoing process improvement, automation, and potential offshoring initiatives
