INTERIM Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Full Time, 12-month position
The Manville School District is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and student-centered educational leader to serve as the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, the Interim Assistant Superintendent provides visionary leadership in the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the District's instructional programs, curriculum, assessment systems, and professional learning initiatives.
The Interim Assistant Superintendent is responsible for improving student learning by strengthening the core components of the educational process, including curriculum, instruction, assessment, instructional technology, and professional development. This leader will work collaboratively with district and building administrators, teachers, staff, students, families, and the Board of Education to ensure equitable, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences for all students.
The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a shared K-12 vision for curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and instructional technology that aligns with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and the District's strategic goals. The Interim Assistant Superintendent will oversee the evaluation of instructional programs and student achievement data, communicating findings and recommendations to faculty, administrators, the Board of Education, and the larger school community through a variety of effective communication methods.
Additional responsibilities include leading K-12 curriculum initiatives, including the development of the Program of Studies and course offerings; designing and implementing targeted, job-embedded professional learning opportunities; supervising instructional and assessment practices to ensure high-quality teaching and learning; developing and managing departmental budgets that reflect the instructional needs of all learners; and collaborating with the Superintendent in the preparation and submission of required state reports and other district initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid NJ School Administrator or Principal endorsement required.
Master's degree required; doctorate preferred.
Demonstrated district-level curriculum leadership preferred.
Experience supervising administrators preferred.
Experience with school budgeting preferred.
Knowledge of NJQSAC, NJDOE accountability systems, and state reporting.Minimum of five years of teaching experience. Demonstrated leadership and innovation in classroom teaching. Experience as a building principal preferred.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills which create relationships with all levels of staff.
Ability to:
Properly analyze and apply district policies and state regulations in a variety of situations.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with school personnel, administrators, students, and parents.
Demonstrated achievement and leadership in the planning, developing, organizing, communicating and implementing district-level programs in curriculum, supervision/evaluation, and professional development.
Ability to work within a team to plan, develop, organize, communicate and implement the district's Strategic Plan.
Proficient in the utilization of technology and digital information platforms.
SUPERVISES: Content area supervisors and instructional staff.
