• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 - 9 months (LOA coverage)
• Pay Rate: $70.00 $90.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Days; prefer 40 hours/week, but open to part-time candidates for the right person
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Benefits leader to step in on an interim basis and lead through a critical period, including open enrollment. This role combines program leadership and hands-on execution, ensuring a seamless experience for employees while maintaining operational continuity. This is temporary support during an upcoming open enrollment season and related benefits initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end open enrollment (planning, execution, vendor coordination, issue resolution, employee experience)
• Manage and support benefits programs including health & welfare, 401(k), and deferred comp
• Project manage timelines, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth delivery
• Serve as a key point of contact for employees, partnering with internal team members to ensure responsive, high-touch support
• Support renewals, benchmarking, and market insights to maintain competitive offerings
• Step in on day-to-day benefits operations as needed during peak periods

Required Skills

• Proven experience leading open enrollment cycles
• Strong background in benefits administration and vendor management
• Knowledge of retirement and deferred compensation plans
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Good knowledge of federal and state regulations as it pertains to compliant administration of benefits

Preferred Skills

• Life sciences experience is a plus, but not required

Required Experience

• Strong experience leading benefits administration, including medical, retirement (401(k)), compliance, renewals, and open enrollment activities
• Proven project leadership skills with the ability to manage timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
• Strategic and systems-oriented mindset

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience supporting organizations of 1,000 employees preferred
