Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Interim Chief Executive Officer on behalf of a fast-growing consumer products company specializing in innovative pet products. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Billings, Montana, with an anticipated interim engagement of approximately six months.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Interim Chief Executive Officer will provide executive leadership during a pivotal period as the organization prepares for its next stage of growth and a potential future acquisition. This executive will partner closely with the owner to stabilize operations, strengthen organizational infrastructure, improve financial and operational controls, and build accountability across the business. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys driving meaningful organizational transformation within a growing entrepreneurial company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide executive leadership by overseeing day-to-day operations, organizational restructuring, strategic planning, and overall business performance.
  • Strengthen operational infrastructure by improving processes, accountability, compliance, internal controls, and warehouse operations.
  • Partner with accounting leadership and external advisors to improve financial reporting, business controls, tax cleanup efforts, and overall financial performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop employees while fostering accountability, collaboration, and trust across the organization.
  • Prepare the organization for a future acquisition by implementing scalable systems, improving operational efficiency, and supporting long-term business objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the owner, employees, manufacturing partners, and key stakeholders while exercising executive decision-making authority within established guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Executive leadership experience as a CEO, President, COO, General Manager, or comparable organizational leader.
  • Strong background in operations, financial oversight, organizational transformation, and change management.
  • Experience leading growing organizations and preparing businesses for acquisition, succession, or significant organizational transitions.
  • Hands-on leadership style with exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience within consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse operations, e-commerce, or related industries is highly valued.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $85/hour.
  • Approximately six-month interim engagement, with the potential for extension based on business needs.
