Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for our client, an innovative WealthTech company transforming portfolio management and financial technology solutions. This is a contract to hire opportunity offering a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Lead the company's overall technology strategy while building a high-performing internal engineering organization capable of delivering scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions. Oversee technology vision, software architecture, engineering leadership, infrastructure, security, and product delivery while partnering closely with executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute the company's long-term technology vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy.
Lead all aspects of software engineering, architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, security, and technology operations.
Modernize existing platforms and drive scalable, secure, cloud-based technology solutions.
Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization, including recruiting key technical leaders.
Establish engineering best practices, software development standards, and operational excellence across the organization.
Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives and product strategy.
Champion emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and advanced analytics, to support continued business growth.
Oversee technology governance, cybersecurity, vendor relationships, budgeting, and long-term technology investments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar executive role.
Proven success building, scaling, and leading high-performing software engineering organizations.
Strong background in modern software architecture, cloud technologies, DevOps, and enterprise technology strategy.
Experience with Microsoft technologies, including .NET, C#, SQL Server, APIs, and modern web application development.
Demonstrated success leading technology transformation, modernization, and organizational change initiatives.
Excellent executive communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
WealthTech, FinTech, or financial services technology experience strongly preferred.
Experience with portfolio management, investment reporting, or financial software platforms a plus.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
