Interim Communications Coordinator

This role is responsible for developing and executing media relations strategies, managing press outreach, and partnering with senior leadership to shape key messaging within a regulated environment. The position also focuses on building relationships with journalists, measuring communications impact, and helping enhance the overall effectiveness of the Communications function.

Description

• Balance proactive media outreach with the management of inbound media inquiries, ensuring thoughtful and strategic engagement within a regulated environment.
• Partner closely with senior leaders to develop clear, compelling messaging around key business topics and industry trends.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with priority journalists and industry reporters.
• Support the development of media reporting and analytics to demonstrate the Communications team's impact and alignment with business and commercial objectives.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Communications function by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, collaboration, and overall effectiveness.

Profile

• 5-8 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within financial services, professional services, capital markets, or a similarly complex industry.
• A proactive, creative, and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and solve challenges effectively.
• Prior agency experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting communications efforts in regulated or reputation-sensitive environments.
• Proven ability to develop and execute earned media strategies that drive visibility and enhance brand reputation.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Excellent written, verbal, and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working effectively across teams.
