Description
Interim Controller / NetSuite Implementation Lead
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Engagement Type: Contract / Interim
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $80/hour
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Controller with significant NetSuite implementation experience to step into a critical role supporting an active ERP deployment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring continuity of the implementation, driving project milestones, and leading the organization through a successful NetSuite go-live.
This role requires a hands-on finance leader who has successfully navigated NetSuite implementations, including data migration, system configuration, testing, integrations, user training, and post-go-live support. While Controller-level accounting support will be part of the engagement, the primary focus will be leading and supporting the NetSuite implementation through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance lead for the ongoing NetSuite implementation
- Drive project execution through testing, deployment, go-live, and stabilization
- Evaluate current project status and quickly identify risks, gaps, and next steps
- Manage system configuration, workflows, user acceptance testing, and process improvements
- Oversee data migration and validation efforts to ensure data integrity
- Partner with internal stakeholders to establish accounting processes and controls within NetSuite
- Coordinate integrations between NetSuite and existing payroll, purchasing, and operational systems
- Train end users and provide post-go-live support to finance and operational teams
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and documentation of key processes
- Provide interim Controller support, including oversight of accounting operations and financial processes as needed
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on NetSuite implementation experience, including at least one full-cycle implementation through go-live
- Proven experience leading ERP implementations, upgrades, or conversions
- Strong understanding of NetSuite financial modules, workflows, reporting, and system administration
- Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience
- Experience with system integrations, data migration, testing, and user training
- Ability to assess project status quickly and execute in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on, collaborative approach with the ability to guide and mentor internal teams
- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, or multi-entity environments

- Comfortable balancing ERP project leadership with day-to-day accounting oversight

- Collaborative business partner who can build credibility quickly and keep critical projects on track
