LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client in Troy, Michigan that is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to join their team on a temporary basis. This engagement is expected to last 8+ months and will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while ensuring continued financial stability and operational excellence.
Location: Troy, MI
Schedule: Hybrid | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: Temporary Contract (8+ Months)
Compensation: $58-$77 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll oversight.
Manage and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to leadership.
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives.
Assist with audits and collaborate with external auditors as needed.
Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and strategic guidance.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
Support special projects and transition initiatives during the interim engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changing business needs.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
