Interim Director of Emergency Department Needed in Springfield, Missouri!
The Position
An Interim Director of Emergency Department is needed to lead day-to-day operations of a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department containing 68 beds.
This leader will oversee seven direct reports and approximately 130 FTEs.
Key responsibilities include leading meaningful change across the Emergency Department, with a strong focus on creating a stable staffing environment and fostering a positive, accountable culture. This leader will use performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and drive operational results while developing and mentoring clinical supervisors to strengthen the leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, collaborative leader who is adaptable, patient-focused, and comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to build trust with staff and physicians will be essential.
Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
Requirements
BSN required; master's degree preferred.
Active RN license required.
Significant Emergency Department nursing leadership experience required, with high-acuity, trauma, pediatric, change management, staffing stabilization, performance improvement, and leadership development experience preferred.

Compensation Details
Compensation Range: $160,000 to $175,000 annually.
The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
