    Interim Director of Human Resources & Leadership Development

    Job Summary:

    The Director of Human Resources and Leadership Development provides the leadership for visionary planning, development, maintenance, and evaluation of the District's human resources and develops systems to support and facilitate successful educational programs throughout the District.

    Primary Activities:

    • Implements administrative regulations relating to personnel matters.

    • Participates as a member of the District APPR Committee, Leadership Team, Policy Committee, and Cabinet.

    • Coordinates District onboarding processes.

    • Directs the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of candidates.

    • Updates Board policies, procedures, and Administrative Regulations.

    • Coordinates the teacher certification process.

    • Collects data and prepares financial projections for negotiations and salary review.

    • Coordinates Basic Educational Data System Reporting.

    • Monitors employee attendance.

    • Investigates and handles workers' compensation, legal, retirement, and disciplinary issues.

    • Attends conferences and workshops to stay current on personnel and legal issues and general trends in human resource management and school administration.

    • Plans and coordinates training for all employee groups, certificated and classified.

    • Implements employee benefits.

    • Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. (e.g. personnel actions, equal opportunity, regulatory requirements, actions involving outside gencies, inter-district needs, etc.) to identify issues, develop recommendations, support other staff, and serve as a District representative.

    • Acts as a liaison with the State Education Department and Westchester County Department of Human Resources.

    • Manages district fingerprinting service.

    • Completes Title IX investigations and reports as the designated Title IX Officer.

    • Serves on the District's negotiating team during bargaining with the District's bargaining units and recommends proposals and settlements.

    • Coordinates and manages the function of personnel services for the School District including, employment, reappointment, performance appraisal, contracts, counseling, personnel research, unemployment compensation, benefits, and retirement systems.

    • Prepares and finalizes personnel agenda for board meetings.

    • Coordinates and manages the selection process of staff and school administrative personnel.

    • Assists the Superintendent and Central Office Administration with organizational analysis and development.

    • Coordinates and manages the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

    • Collaborates with the business office to ensure staffing is budgeted for and position control is in place

    • Plans, directs, and monitors the application and employment process of all employees.

    • Assists with the orientation program for new teachers.

    • Prepares personnel reports.

    • Directs and monitors the processing of leave requests under the law, including FMLA.

    • Coordinates the development of job descriptions and evaluation systems.

    • Manages Sick Bank processes.

    • Oversees the provision of employee accommodations under Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    • Supports the professional development of the district leadership team.

    • Oversees the district's in-service program

    CERTIFICATION: NYS Certification SDL or SDA

    TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Interim

    EFFECTIVE: Immediately

    SALARY: Commensurate with experience
