Intermin Director of Nursing –Long-Term Care
Amsterdam, NY
13-Week ContractCompensation: $75.20/hr
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Days (8: 00 AM –4: 30 PM, flexibility as needed)
About the Opportunity: We are seeking an accomplished Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Amsterdam, NY.
This role is ideal for a seasoned nursing leader with expertise in long-term care, clinical management, regulatory compliance, and team development. The Interim DON will oversee all aspects of the nursing department, drive quality care initiatives, support staff performance, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and facility regulations while maintaining the highest standards of resident care. Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure smooth department management
Ensure delivery of high-quality resident care and clinical services
Manage nursing staff scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and development
Maintain compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations
Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Prepare for and participate in survey activities and corrective action planning
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support positive resident outcomes
Monitor clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
Assist with staffing, recruitment, retention, and employee engagement efforts
Provide leadership support during operational transitions and organizational changes
Participate in an on-call rotation as required
Qualifications Include:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 2 years of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience required
Previous Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility regulations and survey processes
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to quickly assess operational needs and implement effective solutions
