Interim Director, World Languages Responsibilities (0.5 FTE)
The district-level Directors for World Languages (1-12), Music (PK-12), Art (K-12), and Wellness (K-12) are responsible for the implementation of the entire program of the department and for the compatibility of the department curriculum with established system-wide program goals and instructional objectives. Directors provide leadership under the overall direction of the Assistant Superintendent, who has authority to approve all programs and changes. Directors assist in the research and implementation of best practices in curriculum and instruction and take the lead in developing the curriculum and in updating all courses and subject matter to be consistent with system-wide goals and objectives. Directors are responsible for the overall quality of instruction in the department and assist the building principals in evaluations of the department members. With the support of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, directors are responsible for targeted professional development.
