Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Interim Finance Manager in Saint Louis, MO. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a dynamic organization on a short-term contract basis. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing a team of accounting professionals, and supporting business leaders through financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong accounting expertise, advanced Excel skills, experience managing staff, and the ability to quickly establish themselves as a trusted business partner. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including oversight of approximately three direct reports
  • Review financial reporting packages and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Support month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis activities
  • Monitor internal controls, compliance processes, and audit requirements
  • Partner with operational and financial leaders to deliver reporting, insights, and business recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and workflow effectiveness
  • Assist with onboarding new business activity and financial integration efforts
  • Support leadership with pricing analysis, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives
  • Drive accountability, development, and performance management across the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, developing, and managing team performance
  • Experience leading accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
  • Yardi experience required; Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Experience reviewing financial statements, reporting packages, reconciliations, and supporting audit compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and best operational practices
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulas, PivotTables, reporting, and financial modeling
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner across finance, operations, and leadership teams
  • Strong leadership, delegation, coaching, and employee development experience
  • High level of accountability, initiative, problem-solving ability, and sound business judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiencies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
