Interim L&D Director (Antenatal) Needed in near Cambridge, Massachusetts!

The Position

  • An Interim L&D Director (Antenatal) is needed to provide operational and clinical leadership for a high-acuity inpatient antenatal and labor and delivery service while ensuring exceptional patient care and departmental performance.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director of Nursing, this leader will oversee a comprehensive inpatient obstetric service.
  • Key responsibilities include ensuring appropriate staffing and retention, maintaining compliance with labor agreements, leading the department through high-volume operations, supporting newly hired staff, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing direct clinical support as needed during labor work stoppages, including serving as the Charge Nurse when necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong operational and strategic leader with experience leading complex inpatient clinical services. This individual will demonstrate the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, develop and mentor staff, foster collaboration, and successfully navigate organizational change. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
  • Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.

Requirements

  • BSN required. DNP, PhD, or MSN in a healthcare-related field required.
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Specialty certification required or must be obtained within two years.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience in Women's Health required. Three years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience and labor relations experience preferred.

Compensation Details

  • Compensation Range: $165,000 to $175,000 annually.
  • The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
  • The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
