Job Description

Green Bay Area Catholic Education, Inc (GRACE) is looking for an Interim Principal for the 2026-27 school year at St. Bernard Catholic School on the east side of Green Bay.

The GRACE Principal is responsible for ensuring rigorous and standards-aligned teaching and learning while establishing and maintaining a positive culture for students, staff and families. The Principal provides visionary leadership while ensuring a rigorous education for all students and ensures that students reach academic goals and feel supported socially and emotionally. The Principal manages all aspects of the school-level budgeting process, as well as efforts to drive school improvement and oversees daily school operations. The Principal ensures there is collaborative, two-way communication between families and staff and seeks out feedback from the community on ways to improve the school community. The Principal supervises and evaluates school personnel and provides regular feedback and professional learning opportunities to drive improvement.

Core Responsibilities

Provide educational leadership and administrative direction to the school

Develop, implement, and evaluate academic programs that support student learning and achievement

Supervise, evaluate, and support all staff members to ensure a positive and productive work environment

Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and community stakeholders to build and maintain positive relationships

Develop and manage the school budget and resources to ensure financial stability and support academic programs

Ensure compliance with all Diocese, state and federal laws and regulations related to education

Create and maintain a safe and positive school environment that supports student learning and well-being

Oversee attendance, behavior management, counseling, guidance, and other student support services, provide individual academic and personal counseling to students and parents,

Coordinate the maintenance and operation of the school facility; assure proper management, maintenance, and inventory of materials, equipment, buildings, and grounds.

Direct the implementation of staff development and in-service training; update staff on revised policies and procedures and implement changes

Interview, select, direct, evaluate, and supervise contracted and non-contracted personnel; assign faculty and staff as appropriate to meet school objectives

Regular, punctual and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.

Education

Prefer Master's degree in Education administration of related field but minimum of Bachelor''s Degree required

WI DPI Principal licensure

Experience

Previous school leadership experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 40 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
