Danvers Public Schools Interim Principal (One-Year Appointment)- Holten Richmond Middle School Reports To: Superintendent Mission

The Interim Principal will provide instructional leadership that advances the district''s strategic priorities while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment for all members of the school community. Position Summary
The Interim Principal serves as the instructional leader of Holten-Richmond Middle School and is responsible for fostering a positive school culture, promoting academic excellence, supporting the social-emotional well-being of students, and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the school. The Interim Principal works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and district leaders to implement the district''s Strategic Plan and cultivate a learning environment where every student is challenged, supported, and prepared for success. The Interim Principal will maintain continuity of school operations while advancing district initiatives, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), inclusive instructional practices, data-informed decision-making, and meaningful family engagement. Essential Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
- Serves with the curriculum director as the instructional leader of the school, promoting high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and student-centered instruction.
- Support implementation of district curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional initiatives.
- Utilize student achievement, attendance, behavioral, and climate data to inform school improvement efforts.
- Support implementation of MTSS to ensure all students receive appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
- Conduct meaningful classroom observations and provide actionable feedback that promotes educator growth.
- Promote equitable access to rigorous learning opportunities for all students.
Schoolwide Systems and Structures
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and orderly school environment.
- Lead implementation of district policies, procedures, and school improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with district administrators to strengthen systems supporting academics, attendance, behavior, and student well-being.
- Ensure effective implementation of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP), MTSS framework, and inclusive educational practices.
- Supervise emergency preparedness, school safety, and crisis response procedures.
- Foster collaboration among teachers, counselors, related service providers, and support staff.
Family and Community Partnerships
- Build trusting relationships with students, families, and community members.
- Promote open, transparent, and culturally responsive communication.
- Ensure families are meaningful partners in their children''s education.
- Support opportunities for family engagement that strengthen connections between home and school.
- Represent the school positively within the Danvers community.
District Procedures and Policies
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, DESE, and School Committee policies and regulations.
- Supervise personnel and conduct evaluations consistent with the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation Framework.
- Develop and monitor the school budget in collaboration with district leadership.
- Oversee student discipline in a manner that promotes restorative practices, equity, and student growth.
- Collaborate with district leadership regarding staffing, scheduling, facilities, and operational planning.
- Support implementation of district initiatives that promote continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness.
