About the Opportunity - Interim Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced senior accounting contractor to step into a senior-level role with minimal ramp-up. This is a high-impact, short-term engagement (2–3 months) supporting critical financial close, reporting, and compliance activities in a public company environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, operates independently, and collaborates effectively across complex organizations. The role offers a hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work.


Key Responsibilities - Interim Senior Accountant



  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes including journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies

  • Analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain compliance with accounting policies

  • Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements in a public company setting

  • Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing activity and performance drivers

  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and auditor requests

  • Assist with SOX compliance efforts, including documentation, testing, and evidence preparation

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls

  • Contribute to special projects, technical accounting analyses, and ad hoc reporting needs




Qualifications - Interim Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience, preferably Big 4

  • Experience supporting public company reporting and compliance requirements

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and close processes

  • CPA designation strongly preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills required


Preferred:



  • Manufacturing or industrial industry experience

  • Inventory and cost accounting knowledge

  • SAP or similar ERP system experience

  • Experience with global or multi-national organizations

  • Exposure to SEC reporting and SOX compliance
