Interim Surgical Services Director Needed in Shakopee, Minnesota!

The Position

• An Interim Surgical Services Director is needed to provide hands-on leadership for a comprehensive surgical services program while supporting operational efficiency, workforce flexibility, and continued growth.
• This leader will oversee a team of 82 FTEs across the OR, Pre/Post Anesthesia, PACU, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and CRNA groups.
• Key responsibilities include providing steady, collaborative leadership across surgical services while improving how teams work together and resources are utilized. This leader will focus on creating a more flexible and efficient perioperative environment that supports surgical volume, responds to staffing needs, and delivers a consistent, high-quality patient experience.
• The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, approachable leader who can quickly build trust across teams, bring a fresh perspective to current workflows, and create alignment in a dynamic surgical environment. This leader should be comfortable navigating change, engaging staff, and balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term improvement opportunities. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
• Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.

Requirements

• BSN required.
• Active RN license required.
• Union experience required.
• Significant surgical services leadership experience required, with demonstrated experience overseeing perioperative operations, including the OR, PACU, Pre/Post Anesthesia, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and anesthesia services.

Compensation Details

• Compensation Range: $165,000 to $175,000 annually.
• The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
• The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
