Key Responsibilities:
  • Core Operational Responsibilities
  • Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Accountability: Full legal and operational responsibility for hospital and retail pharmacy licenses, ensuring adherence to Montana Board of Pharmacy rules, CMS, and DNV standards
  • Daily Management: Oversee all pharmacy personnel, including scheduling, clinical assignments, performance management, and mentorship
  • Financial & Formulary Stewardship: Manage operational and capital budgets, monitor drug spend, manage inventory, and collaborate with P&T Committee
  • Quality & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards across all compounding environments
  • Project-Specific Deliverables
  • 340B Program Expansion & TPA Implementation:
  • TPA software rollout – operational lead for implementation and configuration
  • Split-billing & NDC mapping – establish and validate parameters
  • Contract Pharmacy Management – oversee expansion of new agreements
  • Audit Readiness – establish automated auditing procedures and compliance dashboards
  • Ambulatory Infusion Site Expansion:
  • Regulatory Design Oversight – partner with facilities, engineering, and compliance teams
  • Clinical & Operational Workflow – design efficient, safe clinical workflows
  • Revenue Cycle Coordination – ensure correct medical billing code alignment

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered Pharmacist License in Montana (or verified eligibility for immediate licensure via reciprocity). Must qualify as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) immediately upon start.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy leadership experience (Director or Assistant Director level) in acute care setting
  • Specialized Expertise:
  • Proven track record managing a 340B program, including full-cycle TPA software conversion/implementation
  • Direct experience overseeing clinical, regulatory, and physical build-out/expansion of sterile compounding infusion center
  • Reporting: Report directly to CNO; provide monthly progress updates on TPA implementation, infusion expansion, labor productivity, and drug spend variance
  • 90-mile radius rule: Candidate must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
  • Facility reserves the right to cancel 3 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or other circumstances
  • No holiday coverage required
