Join our closed-door pharmacy team as anInterim Systems (On-Site Store/OSS) Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.This role is responsible for overseeing department workflow, ensuring that staff are appropriately trained, and providing feedback toensure staff perform their duties according to organizational standards and current priorities. On-Site Store (OSS) generically refers to any type of Emergency Kit, Starter Kit, Interim Kit, Swing or Exchange Kit, Cubex,Omnicell, Medispense, etc., whether manual or electronic and used to maintain a limited supply of medications at a facility foremergency use.

Location:On site at our closed-door pharmacy (9006 Yellow Brick Road, Rosedale MD, 21237)

Salary: $62,000 - $65,000 annually (depending on experience)

Schedule:Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm (rotating weekends and holidays)

Travel: Up to 75% (travel reimbursement)

Report To:Director of Pharmacy

Key Responsibilities:

·           Provide support across staff supervision, operational management, and customer-facing On-Site Services (OSS) functions

·           Coordinate department scheduling and maintain accurate PTO, attendance, and time-off records

·           Assist with employee management, including coaching, counseling, discipline, and performance reviews

·           Oversee daily workflow, adjust staffing assignments, and ensure effective shift-to-shift communication

·           Identify and escalate staff performance, behavior, and workflow concerns to leadership

·           Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures

·           Support medication preparation, packaging, shipping, and inventory management for OSS systems (manual and electronic)

·           Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including replenishment, usage, audits, discrepancies, and inventory tracking

·           Assist with data entry, prepackaging, medication recalls, system updates, and implementation activities

·           Collaborate with pharmacists, including the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with controlled substance procedures

·           Provide onsite OSS support, including replenishment, training, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

·           Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy and external facilities, ensuring professional communication and service

·           Act as a subject matter expert on OSS systems and software for internal and external users

·           Conduct required audits, including monthly controlled substance audits and quarterly non-controlled medication audits

·           Ensure formulary accuracy and regularly review, resolve, and report discrepancies to leadership

·           Represent the organization professionally to internal teams, customers, and vendors

·           Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational excellence and high-quality service delivery

·           The ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle to travel to customer facilities.
  • Registered with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy technician and in good standing.
  • At least one year of successful experience as a pharmacy technician or related role with pharmacy operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills with English as the primary language.
  • Ability to work independently as well as working in a team environment meets deadlines, establish priorities, and be flexible, work under pressure with multiple tasks. Must have strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills, ability to problem solve.

 

Skills + Abilities:

•          Customer facing role that requires effective communication both verbally and written. Strong customer service focus.

•          Thorough understanding of medical terminology and drug knowledge

•          Minimum of one (1) year working in a long-term care pharmacy preferred but not required

•          This position requires the ability to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service issues, emergency demands, regulatory compliance, maintaining HIPAA compliance and managing competing priorities.

•          This position requires the ability to exert up to 55 lbs. of force occasionally and/or lift, carry, push, or move objects of similar weight.

•          Position requires the ability to stand, sit or drive for extended periods of time during the workday.
