Interior Designer

Barge Design Solutions is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Architecture team. This position will be based in our Nashville TN office and will be responsible for technical project planning, oversight, organization, technical design preparation, and production of reports, specs, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Supports PM providing technical leadership on conventional projects.
• Interprets and develops design renderings for complex plans, presents to clients for approval, selects finishes, makes presentation boards, floor patterns, interior elevations, details, finishes, plans, signage plans, reflective ceiling plans, etc.
• Coordinates documents with various areas including engineering and architects.
• Consults with local and federal jurisdictions about regulations and building codes.
• Writes and reviews Interior Associates specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Designs, investigates, and recommends building systems and materials.
• Works with mentees to critically think through current issues and develop alternative approaches for resolution.
• In addition, this role establishes relationships with mentees to assist exploring a mentees strengths, talents, and gifts while encouraging them to find means to exploring them within the company.
• Participate in client meetings as appropriate.
• May assist in project scope and budget development as well as assisting in project design.
• Conducts on-site visits to monitor progress of project.
• Mentors and reviews work of more junior staff for quality purposes.
• Technical lead on conventional projects.
• Performs other duties as requested.
