Interior Systems Engineer (Interior + IP/Console)

We have an opening for an Interior Systems Engineer (Interior + IP/Console) to work onsite with our client in the Novi/Northville MI area. This is a contract/resident engineering opportunity.

What you will be doing:
The Interior Systems Engineer (Interior + IP/Console) Responsible for design, development, and integration of interior systems including IP, console, trim, restraints, and soft components. Ensures delivery of high-quality, manufacturable, and compliant interior systems.

What you'll need to be successful (must haves):
  • Design and develop interior components (IP, console, trim, seating, restraints)
  • Create and manage CATIA CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Support supplier integration, DV/PV testing, and prototype builds
  • Perform DFMEA, validation testing, and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Manage engineering changes and production readiness

Essentials:
  • Degree in Mechanical or related engineering field
  • Experience in automotive interior systems (IP/console preferred)
  • Proficiency in CATIA CAD
  • Knowledge of plastics, soft trim, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
