Imagine your designs defining the next generation of flagship stores and branded environments. You're not just planning spaces; you're creating immersive brand experiences that customers walk into and remember. We're looking for a creative and technical powerhouse to join a celebrated New York City design firm. This is your chance to lead concept-driven projects from the initial spark through to the final installation, all while collaborating with a talented team on a hybrid schedule in Manhattan.
You will:
- Serve as a key client interface throughout the design phase, translating brand vision into tangible reality.
- Assist the design director in guiding the project team and take ownership of developing preliminary retail programs, test-fits, and schematic designs.
- Prepare design scope and budget documentation for fixtures and millwork, and coordinate seamlessly with clients, consultants, and the internal team.
- Organize and lead design presentations, and expertly select and specify all furniture, finishes, and accessories.
- Design and coordinate retail fixturing—from wall systems and gondolas to vitrines and POS displays—and develop custom millwork details from fabrication intent through shop drawing review.
- Ensure every detail aligns with the design vision, with periodic site visits to see your work come to life.
You bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's is a plus) and a solid portfolio showcasing at least 5 years of continuous, professional experience specifically in retail interiors and branded environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in retail store planning, including both sales floor and back-of-house logistics.
- Proven skill in retail fixturing and custom millwork design, detailing, and coordination.
- A strong balance of innovative concept development and meticulous technical execution.
Your technical toolkit includes:
- Strong proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- The ability to create compelling, photo-realistic renderings using tools like Enscape and AI-driven software.
