Title:Intermediate Construction Safety Specialist | PANYNJ sites and facilities

Our client is a highly respected civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and recognized among NJBIZ's Top 25 Engineering Firms. With a team of experienced engineers and inspectors, the firm has played a key role in delivering landmark transportation projects across New York and New Jersey.
Description:Under the supervision of the Construction management division, immediate need for three individuals to perform technical and administrative duties essential to ensure that contractors will conduct all their activities in compliance with Federal, State, and Local fire and safety regulations.
Home base for this position will be at a PANYNJ facility nearby. Site interaction could be at any of the PANYNJ sites in the region. Responsibilities:- Review contracts, drawings, and project-related documentation.
- Ensure that contractors are in compliance with OSHA, FDNY, NYCDOB, local laws, etc.
- Review contractor health and safety plans.
- Monitor work conditions, operations, practices, construction equipment to evaluate effectiveness and adherence to regulations.
- Provide the PANYNJ with daily reports including photos.
- Conduct accident investigations.
- Interact with PANYNJ Resident Engineers, and agency safety representatives.
Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety.
- Possess a valid NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor card (SST).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Possess a valid OSHA 30-hour construction safety certificate.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Familiar with Fire Codes and FDNY regulations and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hazard recognition and assessment.
- Must communicate effectively.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Safety desired but not required. MUST have OSHA and SST certifications.
