Along with our interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors, we specialize in hospitality, gaming+entertainment, urban+mixed‑use, and high‑end residential design.WATG is hiring an Intermediate Designer for our office in NewYork.RoleThe Intermediate Designer works in the various phases of small and/or specialized phases of large, complex projects, assisting with rendered plans and section elevations, furniture layouts, color and material boards, drawing presentations, and product sourcing. The Intermediate Designer participates in complex interior design assignments and supports the preparation of drawings, CAD design, graphics and sketching; client presentations; and organizes sample resources for the Studio.ResponsibilitiesDevelops innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe and reflective of the intended purpose and function of the projectPrepares and provides assignments with a focus on keeping the project on schedule and within budgetSelects and specifies interior architectural materials and finishes, including furniture, lighting and artwork to carry out the design intentAble to independently deliver design concepts and conduct programming efforts, such as space planning, layout and FF&E utilization, lighting and color coordinationRenders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation and design drawingsParticipates in team meetings to align the project deliverables to the design intent and prepares and participates in client presentationsPrepares and updates documents during schematic design and the design development phasesCoordinates with the Purchasing Agent on bids and subcontracting fabricationAssists with installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings requiredCommunicates with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to incorporate all required information into the projectImplements and follows Wimberly Interiors standards for all projects and processesUnderstands technical regulations and code compliance requirementsCompletes technical research and prepare specification manualsIncorporates integrated sustainable design solutions into projectsMay mentor and direct the work of less experienced staffFosters a commitment to external and internal client serviceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related fieldMinimum of 4 years of experience designing and delivering interior designer projectsProficient technical expertise in MS Office, Adobe Suite, DesignSmart, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and other design toolsModerate level of experience in graphic design concepts, hand‑sketching, vignette scenes, hand coloring, renderings, and shop drawingsExposure to translating design concepts into building assembliesAbility to meet deadlines, working effectively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities within established timelines and budgetsEffective written and verbal communication and presentation skillsJob InformationSalary range: $65,000-$85,000 per yearWATG is an Equal Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
