WORKING WITH SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS Costich Engineering is seeking an experienced Office Survey Technician to take on a substantive role in our surveying operations. This role is well-suited for a skilled survey professional who works independently, produces accurate final deliverables, and enjoys helping junior staff develop their technical foundation.Key Responsibilities Drafting & Drawing Production Prepare and review survey drawings, plats, exhibits, and mapping using AutoCAD and Civil 3DPerform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built survey draftingDevelop final deliverables suitable for municipal, legal, and client useMaintain and help enforce company CAD and surveying standardsData Processing & Analysis Process, analyze, and adjust field survey data with minimal supervisionPerform survey calculations and apply sound boundary analysis principlesVerify data completeness and accuracy before finalizing deliverablesResearch & Boundary Work Conduct deed, easement, right-of-way, and subdivision researchIdentify and resolve boundary conflicts using available records and sound judgmentInterpret legal descriptions, survey records, and field notes independentlyCoordinate closely with field crews, project managers, and licensed surveyorsProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior survey techniciansAssist in workload planning and schedule coordination as neededNote: This job description is not all encompassing; more responsibilities may be granted as deemed appropriate based on abilities and experience.Qualifications Required 5+ years of progressive office survey technician experienceStrong proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience requiredAdvanced understanding of boundary law, survey methods, and surveying best practicesAbility to independently interpret field data, deeds, legal descriptions, and survey recordsPreferred Experience preparing ALTA/NSPS land title surveysFamiliarity with New York State surveying standardsLSIT certification or active progress toward licensureExperience mentoring junior survey staffCostich Engineering Employees Enjoy the Following Benefits: Health Benefits – including cafeteria allowance ($8,458.84 annually)Matching 401k – 4.5% firm match with minimum 6% employee contributionOpportunity for career advancement and professional growthSummer Fridays (bi-weekly leave at 11 AM on Friday – Memorial Day through Labor Day)Typical 40-hour work week – hourly pay, anything over 40 hours at 1.5x hourly rateFlexible hours (start/end time); remote work opportunities (2 days max) once established in roleExpenses paid for continuing education, professional licensure exams, etc.Annual rate increases & bonus (based on employee and firm success)Costich Engineering will not accept applications of candidates who require visa sponsorships now or in the future.
