Your Role
As a Field Services Technician, you will provide technical support for pavement condition assessments and testing projects. Your responsibilities will include a combination of field data collection, equipment operation, maintenance, and data management.
Field Responsibilities
Collect pavement distress data on highways, local roads, and transportation networks using industry-standard pavement condition assessment methods.
Operate specialized pavement testing equipment, including pavement profilers, falling weight deflectometers (FWD), laser measurement systems, GPS equipment, and other roadway data collection technologies.
Perform pavement condition surveys and document roadway characteristics accurately and efficiently.
Troubleshoot equipment in the field to ensure high-quality data collection.
Support pavement engineering teams during field investigations and testing activities.
Follow all company and client safety procedures while working in active roadway environments.
Office Responsibilities
Download, organize, review, and manage pavement condition and testing data.
Perform quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) on collected data.
Assist with processing, organizing, and preparing pavement data for engineering analysis and client deliverables.
Maintain accurate field documentation and equipment logs.
Assist with scheduling, logistics, and preparation for field data collection projects.
Maintain, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on pavement testing equipment.
General Responsibilities
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct while adhering to company policies.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who We''re Looking For
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience performing pavement distress data collection, pavement condition surveys, roadway asset collection, or related transportation field work.
High School Diploma
Experience working outdoors in roadway environments.
Familiarity with pavement data collection methods and roadway inspection practices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to collecting accurate, high-quality data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.
Comfortable lifting equipment, working in varying weather conditions, and standing or walking for extended periods.
Ability to travel overnight as required for project assignments.
Valid driver''s license with a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating pavement testing equipment such as:
Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD)
Inertial Pavement Profiler
Laser Crack Measurement Systems
GPS/GIS roadway mapping equipment
Automated pavement distress collection systems
Experience with pavement data management, quality assurance, or processing pavement condition databases.
Experience performing routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of pavement testing equipment.
Familiarity with ASTM or AASHTO pavement testing standards.
Experience supporting pavement management or transportation asset management programs.
Associate''s degree or technical training in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Surveying, Transportation, or a related field.
