A Teacher Intern at Merrill Area Public Schools will support a dynamic learning environment by conducting scheduled classes, engaging students, and reinforcing district curriculum standards while collaborating with a Cooperating Teacher. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and fostering a safe, respectful classroom setting. The intern will collaborate with staff, assist with individualized learning and behavior plans, and prepare classroom activities for substitutes if absent. Familiarity with digital tools, particularly iPads and Google platforms, is preferred to enhance student engagement. Professional growth and active participation in district meetings are also essential components of this role.
All expectations identified through the Wisconsin Improvement Program Handbook about Teacher Internships will be followed throughout the semester Teacher Internship experience.

Qualifications:
In progress for a bachelors/masters degree and seeking Licenseure by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in assigned subjects and/or levels of instruction. Proficiency in subject area being taught. Must have strong technology background. Candidate must seek intern license upon hire.
