Intern – Property & Casualty
Location: Onsite | Columbia, South Carolina
At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team helps businesses protect their assets, manage risk, and plan confidently for the future. We’re seeking a Intern who will support risk strategy, client service excellence, and operational accuracy.

This role will focus on risk management- broadly, client servicing, claims support, sales growth and collaborate with producers, account managers, carriers, clients, internal operations teams.

What You'll Do / Your Impact
Client Partnership & Service Excellence
- Learn commercial insurance workflows, coverages, client service processes, and industry best practices
- Support service teams while gaining exposure to client service activities and insurance operations
Operational & Compliance Excellence
- Participate in structured training focused on agency systems, procedures, technology platforms, and operational standards
- Develop an understanding of documentation, workflows, and agency processes that support client success
Growth & Retention
- Explore career opportunities within Property & Casualty and other business areas
- Develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skills while working alongside experienced professionals
Qualifications:
What You Bring
Required
- Current undergraduate student
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred
- Interest in insurance, risk management, business, finance, or related fields
- Previous internship, customer service, or professional experience
- Interest in obtaining an insurance license

Compensation:
$18.00 per hour.

Licensure & Certifications (If Applicable)

Active State Property & Casualty License
Ability to obtain required licensure within 6 months of hire
