About This Job

Commerce Bank's summer internship program provides students a chance to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. We believe in immersing our interns in all aspects of our business, giving them firsthand experience working in the financial

industry. Interns are involved in strategic projects, participate in company initiatives, interact with leadership teams and develop strong networks with business professionals, internally and externally.

Projects will be hands-on and real-world, varying to the work assignments. Interns also participate in weekly lunch-and-learns, community service activities, and sponsored outings. The intern will be placed in the Commerce Bank's Commercial Banking group in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This group provides a diverse suite of solutions to our customers including commercial lending services, treasury and cash management, commercial payments and card products.

The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027, and will run for 11 weeks, ending on Friday, July 30, 2027. Internships are paid, full-time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions

• Assist in organizing and executing a variety of special projects focused on client relationship management, customer communications, and market development initiatives throughout the Tulsa region.
• Partner closely with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers to gain firsthand exposure to client portfolio management, business development strategies, and day-to-day banking operations.
• Participate with Commercial Banking Portfolio Managers in credit-related meetings and discussions, developing an understanding of commercial underwriting, financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit decision-making processes.
• Attend client and prospective client meetings alongside banking professionals, gaining exposure to relationship-building strategies and the consultative sales process.
• Support efforts to identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the Tulsa market while learning about the economic drivers, industries, and businesses that contribute to the region's growth.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple business lines, including Commercial Banking, Treasury Services, Commercial Payments, Corporate Trust, and other departments, to gain a broad understanding of how Commerce Bank serves its clients.
• Participate in intern program events, leadership panels, and educational sessions designed to provide exposure to Commerce Bank's products, services, lines of business, performance, and industry outlook.
• Engage in professional development opportunities focused on communication, leadership, personal effectiveness, and growth mindset principles.
• Contribute to a collaborative intern capstone project by researching, developing, and presenting innovative ideas or solutions to real business opportunities and challenges facing the bank.
• Build meaningful relationships with Commerce Bank associates, mentors, managers, and fellow interns through networking events, cohort experiences, and community service activities.
• May have the opportunity to travel to Commerce Bank offices in Kansas City, St. Louis and/or other markets to gain broader exposure to the organization's culture, leadership, and regional banking operations.
• Contribute to a collaborative, client-focused team environment while performing additional duties and special assignments as needed.

Education & Experience

• Students entering their Junior or Senior year of college in Fall 2027, pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in commercial banking, financial services, relationship management, credit analysis, or business development through coursework, extracurricular involvement, or prior work experience preferred.

This compensation range is for the Intern job. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $20.00 per hour.
