Position Summary:
Orlando Health’s Community Relations department guides corporate philanthropy that supports the Central Florida community and improves the community’s perception of Orlando Health. The Community Relations Intern will assist the Community Relations Manager with various nonprofit partnerships, community engagement activations and team member volunteerism efforts. The Intern will learn many of the skills needed to pursue a career in Community Relations, Fundraising, Volunteer Management, Human Resources, Project Management or Public Relations at a progressive nonprofit or corporation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intern duties are wide-ranging and may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with planning and coordinating volunteer programs for team members
- Attend community events with External Affairs team
- Track inventory of promotional items, activations and volunteerism through Salesforce
- Ensure excellent customer service with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide general clerical support
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to frequently lift 25 pounds or more
- Must have reliable transportation
- A passion for volunteerism and community involvement
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of hospitality, marketing, public relations or nonprofit management preferred
- Ability to commit 12 hours per week (no more than 8 hours per day)
- Ability to maintain punctual attendance and compliance with all Orlando Health policies
- Ability to provide proof of immunizations, complete a background check, and fulfill other Orlando Health requirements
