Responsibilities As an Engineering Intern at CalAmp, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building and deploying highly scalable cloud-native microservices. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable services using open source and cloud technologies. Qualifications Must Haves - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. - Knowledge of Java programming language. - Will be local to the area in Summer 2026 and can do a hybrid in office (T-Th) at our Carlsbad office. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn. - Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. - Tentative internship dates: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 - Thursday, September 3, 2026. Strong Pluses - Familiarity with microservices architecture and principles. - Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or containerization tools like Docker. - Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services development. - Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data storage solutions. - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. - Experience with version control systems.
