Job Descriptions - Human Resources Department Revised on 9/17/2018 Position: Intern - Central Office Department/Campus: Finance Reports to: Chief Financial Officer FLSA Status: Non-exempt Pay Grade: 1011 Job Type Part Time Work Hours Normal School hours JOB GOAL Assist to directors and other staff in Finance Department in daily operations, secretarial and clerical duties. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o High School diploma o Be a former Harmony Public School (HPS) student or graduate from one of HPS serving sister schools o Cumulative 2.5 GPA in higher education courses (preferred) o Enrolled as a half-time student at college or university (preferred) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Maintains confidentiality regarding staff and school related issues. o Assists Finance Department staff in daily operations. o Assists in organization of professional development sessions, activities, and online seminars. o Coordinates office operations. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers the most complex issues to higher levels. o Assists drafting letters, webpage content, and social media content. o Assists in marketing in social media including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. o Assists in preparing purchase orders.
 o Disseminates and maintains office supplies and materials.
 o Prepares and submits payment for purchases as required.
 o Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive and smoothly run office. o Use effective, positive interpersonal communication skills. o Other duties as assigned.
 SKILLS AND ABILITIES: o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. o Ability to use computer including software, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone. o Ability to analyze data o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting. o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required. o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location. o Moderate travel is required.
