Alleghany Highlands Community Services (AHCS) is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern who is ready to turn classroom learning into real-world experience.This paid internship offers hands-on experience in a busy, mission-driven Human Resources department supporting employees who provide behavioral health, developmental disability, and substance use services throughout our community. The intern will work directly with the HR team and gain exposure to multiple areas of the employee lifecycle.What You'll DoAs an HR Intern, you'll have the opportunity to assist with a variety of Human Resources functions and projects, including:Assisting with recruitment activities, including interview coordination and candidate communicationSupporting new employee onboarding and orientationAssisting with employee records, personnel files, and HR documentationSupporting training and professional development activitiesHelping prepare HR communications, forms, and employee resourcesSupporting employee engagement and recognition initiativesAssisting with HR compliance activitiesParticipating in special HR projects and process-improvement initiativesGaining exposure to day-to-day HR operations and the full employee lifecycleHandling sensitive employee and organizational information with a high level of confidentiality and discretionWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for a student who is:Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related fieldInterested in gaining practical Human Resources experienceOrganized, dependable, and detail-orientedProfessional and able to communicate effectivelyComfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systemsAble to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesWilling to take initiative, ask questions, and learnAble to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and organizational informationInternship DetailsPaid internshipFlexible scheduling based on academic and internship requirementsOpportunity to meet applicable college or university internship requirementsHands-on experience working directly with Human Resources professionalsExperience within a community-based behavioral healthcare organization
