At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL.Our facility in Billerica Massachusettsis located in the metropolitan Boston area and specializes in the designand manufacturing of advanced medical essential technologies for Ophthalmology Surgical imaging and patient care. We currently have an urgent need for a Software Engineering Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a laboratory environment while actively participating in research and development R&D engineering processes. The intern will gain valuable experience in New Product Introduction NPI product support and quality management within the software development domain.Key ResponsibilitiesWork to integrate DSP technology around Texas Instruments C2000 family into power supply control active PFC dynamic control loopsDevelop embedded control in C language and GUI softwareC or Python to demonstrate functionality along with RS232 communication protocol integrationSupport verification and validation of prototype systemCollect process and interpret data from NPI experiments to optimize performanceHelp to familiarize incumbent resources on DSP development and continue development pathEnhance the utility of incumbent software resource to address planned activities for other NPIs in pipelineLearning OpportunitiesHands-on experience in software development DSP technology and power electronics controlExposure to the full lifecycle of New Product Introduction NPI and product support processesInsight into the creation and protection of intellectual property in power electronicsDevelopment of communication and teamwork skills through cross-functional collaboration.QualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering Power Electronics Control Physics or a related field.Strong interest in real time DSP development software and R&D engineering.Knowledge of power electronics control are a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.OtherVisa sponsorship is not available for any position at ExcelitasThis is a temporary internshipMust be a US CitizenPersonsNo relocation availableEqual OpportunityAffirmative Action EmployerMinoritiesFemalesDisabilityVeteranGender IdentitySexual OrientationExcelitas is seeking leaders and innovators to join our global team ENGAGE with us today and make your contribution to the future Join the team that leading technology companies turn to for cutting-edge photonic innovation.
