We manage the entire process from concept through engineering through installation and provide ongoing O&M support.PSG Energy Group's internship program offers a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and hands-on project experience designed to provide broad exposure to commercial and industrial solar energy solutions. This is a paid internship based in Indianapolis, IN, with flexible start and end dates from May to August 2027. Interns should be available to work up to 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.What You'll Do as a Renewable Energy Engineering InternAssist engineers with the design and development of commercial and industrial solar PV projects.Support site assessments and feasibility evaluations to gather data used in system design and project planning.Review electrical and structural drawings and assist in maintaining compliance with applicable codes and standards.Assist with solar energy modeling, production forecasting, and system performance analysis.Support the development of solar layouts, single-line diagrams, and project documentation using industry-standard design software.Participate in system sizing calculations, electrical load analysis, and equipment selection.Assist in preparing technical reports, permit submittals, proposals, and project documentation.Collaborate with project managers, installation teams, and other stakeholders throughout project development and construction phases.Conduct research on solar technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.Participate in field visits and construction site observations to gain practical experience with solar installations.Provide general project support and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and solar power systems.Familiarity with engineering principles and coursework related to electrical systems, energy systems, or power generation.Experience with AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst, or similar design software is preferred.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preference will be given to local candidates; no relocation or housing stipend is available for this position.Must possess valid U.S. work authorization and not require future employment visa sponsorship from Envelop Group.Willingness to travel to customer job sites, which may involve outdoor work and environments such as rooftops, mechanical rooms, construction sites, or equipment areas.
