Responsibilities:
As an Intern Watermelon Breeding program; you create chemistry by leveraging your knowledge in the field of agronomy, seed science, plant science, or a related discipline to build your experience in hybrid seed production/research, seed production/quality assurance.
You will under the direction of Watermelon breeder and breeding specialist to achieve Watermelon breeding needs.
Your agronomic knowledge of crop production systems will be essential as you conduct data collection, seed harvesting, sow and planting.
Your effective written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you participate in weekly meetings.
Applying your mastery of technical skills associated with personal computers such as Excel and Word, you will accurately document and maintain field notes in internal record system.
Your unwavering commitment to compliance will be evident as you complete stewardship, safety and other trainings required for Watermelon breeding.
Working well as a team player, you will assist as needed with other assignments as directed by Breeder or breeding specialist.
Your formula for success, Hold or be working toward a Bachelor's preferably specializing in Crop Science or related discipline.
Communication and human relations skills are necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Analytical and creative skills are needed to manage and resolve complex duties when necessary.e
