Job Summary
Join the Minnesota Department of Healths (MDH) Office of Internal Audit & Assessments to independently plan, conduct, and report on financial, compliance, operational, and data-integrity audits with a specialized emphasis on investigative activities and third-party transactions. The role also serves as the primary liaison between MDH and the State Office of Inspector General (OIG), ensuring coordinated communication, timely information exchange, and consistent investigative standards. Through these functions, the position provides management, the public, and state and federal officials with assurance regarding the integrity, accountability, and effectiveness of MDH programs, operations, and stewardship of public resources.
Working as an Internal Audit Investigator, you will:
In accordance with HR/LR Policy #1422 Telework, this position is eligible for up to 50% telework for applicants who live in Minnesota or in a bordering state within 50 miles of the assigned work location. Candidates residing outside of Minnesota further than 50 miles of the assigned work location at the time of application must be able to relocate to Minnesota within 30 days of their start date. The telework policy may exempt employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement, depending on job requirements, helping the State of Minnesota access top talent across the state.

Two (2) years of related Public Health, Accounting, Financial or programming experience performing at least two of the areas outlined below with the ability to be trained in the remaining areas:
A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Health, Psychology, or related field may substitute for experience as follows:
