Description
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Internal Communications Strategist position! This is a 3-6 month contract and will be hybrid with 4x/wk in office and 1x/wk remote in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
Conduct a comprehensive communications landscape assessment to audit existing internal channels, tools, stakeholders, and identify gaps and opportunities across the organization
Define and document key audience segments and develop employee personas that reflect communication preferences, needs, and engagement patterns to improve targeting and relevance
Develop an overarching internal communications strategy aligned to customer experience goals and The Way We Work enterprise adoption, including a tactical campaign plan with recommended themes, timelines, and channels
Build a scalable communications framework and roadmap that can be transitioned to internal teams, establishing repeatable processes for long-term success
Partner directly with the Engagement & Activation Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to translate insights into actionable communications plans while maintaining alignment with enterprise messaging
Support day-to-day communications execution including drafting employee announcements, newsletters, intranet content, and campaign materials for customer experience and The Way We Work initiatives
Lead the evaluation and potential implementation of new communication delivery channels to enhance employee engagement and organizational awareness
Manage divisional intranet content design and promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the organization's brand
What You'll Need to Have:
8+ years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, or strategic communications within large, matrixed organizations
Demonstrated experience conducting communications audits, landscape assessments, and audience segmentation with the ability to translate discovery into actionable strategic plans
Executive-level writing skills and employee-focused storytelling ability to develop clear, engaging content across multiple channels and audiences
Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, operating effectively in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
Strong experience working within financial services or similarly complex, regulated industries (preferred)
Familiarity with learning & development, HR communications, or collaborating with internal communications centers of excellence
Strategic planning capabilities with experience developing communications strategies that support change management and organizational initiatives
