Peer Reviewer – Veteran Affairs Clinical Peer Review (VACPR)

Maximus is seeking Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician, to support the Veteran Affairs Clinical Peer Review (VACPR) project. Peer Review for Quality Management is used exclusively to improve the quality and utilization of healthcare services within VA medical facilities, evaluating whether clinical decisions met the standard of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent medical record reviews and written evaluations
• Accept or decline cases within 24 hours
• Complete standard reviews within 3–5 business days (expedited cases within 24 hours)
• Use VA EMR, MS Word, and Maximus secure email systems

Compensation

• $125–$500 per case, depending on review type and complexity
• Case volume varies (approximately 0–10 cases per month)

Minimum Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted professional license
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine (5 years)
• Minimum direct patient care of 20 hours per month
• Clinical experience post?training:
• MD/DO: 5 years
• Must not be a VA employee, active?duty military, or provide care in military facilities
• Ability to obtain a VA PIV card and complete fingerprinting (project supported)
