4- 10-hour shifts, Mon-Thur  and one  Tues– Friday, no nights or on call     Internal Medicine MD / OUTPATIENT ONLY

5 years exp, BLS , DEA, BC preferred

No malpractice under 10 years 

5 years clinical experience in a clinic; hospital setting preferred • Graduation from an accredited program of study leading to either an M.D or D.O. degree • Current and unrestricted Medical License and DEA License • BLS Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire • Eligible for Board Certification; Board Certification preferred • BLS Certification 

Provides comprehensive examination and diagnosis of patients through the use of history, diagnostic tests, and other appropriate examinations 2. Diagnoses, directs, prescribes, or provides treatment and/or arranges for specialized care for patients; refers patients for further diagnosis and treatment as appropriate 3. Prescribes corrective procedures to conserve, improve, or correct patient health through the use of therapy and training 4. Prescribes medications for control of infection, pain, viral, bacterial, and fungal infections 5. Establishes a plan of care to restore health and/or treat Knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques of the area of medical specialty • Knowledge of the proper and safe handling, use and disposal of equipment, instruments and sharps • Knowledge of proper infection control processes, methods and techniques • Knowledge of the proper use of safety precautions, clothing and equipment • Knowledge of the instruments, modalities, materials and standardized procedures used in medical exams • Skills associated with effective listening and communication • Ability to work with a variety of patients of varying ages • Ability to quickly change priorities based on changing requirements • Ability to apply critical thinking skills for escalation/triage to proper healthcare professional • Ability to discuss health care practices, techniques and procedures in lay terms • Ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions WORK ENVIRONMENT • Activities are primarily performed in an environmentally controlled healthcare clinic subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer equipment; bending, lifting, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 25 pounds. • Regularly works in an environment subject to quickly changing and often conflicting priorities while supporting leadership needs and requirements PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS • Uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent. • Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry. • Interact in an honest, trustworthy and respectful manner with patients, employees, visitors and vendors. • Display respect and understanding of all individual’s personal and cultural beliefs, values, ideas and contributions in a supportive manner. • Communication is vital between associates, patients, and visitors by fostering fairness and by using terms our patients/families and associates can understand. • Provide the utmost in customer service to both patients and fellow associates. • Comply with San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation policies and procedures disease process; reviews with patient and/or patient family to ensure understanding 6. Participates in a variety of committees, interdisciplinary planning groups and related activities to ensure communication and continuity of care across all areas 7. Reviews medical histories and records observations of examination in medical charts to ensure proper and timely documentation 8. Performs diabetic evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of complications/manifestations 9. Dictates clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients to physicians, hospitals and other individuals and/or facilities 10. Responds to and provides emergency treatment resulting from trauma, pain and/or infection within scope of clinical privileges 11. Works collaboratively with other medical and specialty areas to discuss and obtain consultative services for cases requiring multi-disciplinary approach 12. Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives 13. Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor 14. May be requested to perform duties during non-routine clinic hours and/or at another associated clinic site 15. Performs other duties as require.
