    Make a Difference Where It Matters Most – Join Geisinger Internal Medicine in Wilkes-Barre, PAGeisinger General Internal Medicine (GIM) is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician for an outpatient primary care opportunity at the Geisinger Internal Medicine Clinic in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

    Job Duties:

    What You’ll Love About This Role:

    Geisinger’s General Internal Medicine (GIM) practice offers immediate access to ancillary services and strong sub-specialty support ensuring you can focus on delivering exceptional patient care including:

    • Executive Health Exams

    • Geriatric Assessments

    • Pre-Surgical Risk Assessment & Optimization

    • Acute Care Clinic Services, such as:

      • IV Therapy (Diuretics and Antibiotics)

      • Lab Procedures (Point of Care Testing, Hemoglobin A1C, Urinalysis and Urine Pregnancy)

      • Retinal exams for diabetic patients (in coordination with Ophthalmology)

      • Vaccine administration

    • Plus, a conventionalInternal Medicine practice

    What You Can Expect:

    • Care for patients ages 18 through Geriatric

    • Schedule based on complexity:

      • New patients, annual physicals, and patients over age 65 – 40-minute appointments

      • Follow-up appointments for patients under age 65 – 20-minute appointments

    • Excellent Work-Life Balance:

      • Phone call coverage only

    • Teaching Opportunities:

      • Precept General Internal Medicine residents (PGY 1–3) and medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

    • Immediate Access to Ancillary Services:

      • Radiology and Phlebotomy

    • On-site Care Team including RN’s, LPN’s, CMA’s and Case Managers

    • Epic EMR

    • New’ Ambient voice dictation tool 

      • Streamline documentation and reduce clerical burden

    The Geisinger Internal Medicine Clinic is just minutes from Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV).  GWV has been a part of the Geisinger family since opening as the NPW Medical Center in 1981. The professionals at GWV provide high-quality, coordinated, patient-centered care for residents of northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond. Located just outside of Wilkes-Barre, GWV is home to a Level II trauma center to provide care for the most seriously ill and injured patients, as well as services in more than 50 specialty and subspecialty areas.
