The Department of Medicine and Primary Care at the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced physician educator and leader to serve as founding faculty in Internal Medicine. This full-time position is opento candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor. Academic rank to be determined by The Chicago School & IllinoisCOM academic rank policy.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated educator, accomplished clinician, and innovative leader with expertise in Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the Internal Medicine curriculum, support faculty recruitment and development, and foster a collaborative, student-focused environment that aligns with the mission and values of the IllinoisCOM and The Chicago School.
The Section Chief will lead curriculum development and innovation, clinical partnerships, research initiatives, and community engagement to ensure the IllinoisCOM's program trains physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that integrates both physical and mental health.

The University is building the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine, or the IllinoisCOM, anticipated to open for its first class of students in summer 2026 with a Mission to train exceptional physicians to leverage the interconnection of physical and mental health to provide compassionate, patient-centered care of the highest quality.

This opportunity is budgeted at $175,000 - $250,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
