THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSTING FOR CITY OF SPRINGFIELD EMPLOYEES ONLY

The Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Instrument Technician II. Position will perform highly skilled work in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of specialized and complex equipment, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, PLC's, SCADA, and control systems used in wastewater treatment plants including tertiary treatment units and lift stations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

  • A minimum of five years of experience in maintenance, repair, and servicing specialized and complex industrial and manufacturing equipment including electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, PLC's, SCADA, and Controls;
  • College-level courses or equivalent with an emphasis in electronics may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Licensing/Certification

  • Must possess a valid driver's license;
  • Must possess an Apprentice Electrician license issued by the City of Springfield, Mo;
  • Must obtain and maintain a Level 1 thermography certification within one year of employment.
